WPHH 2026 Report: Franck Muller
Being a master of complications never stops Franck Muller from making them fun
Franck Muller never ceases to amaze us. The watch company has not only continued to bring the tradition of watchmaking to its fans but also created some of the most spectacular watches for women. They are certainly out to captivate the hearts of women with gem settings and embellish them with complications. Making the brand even more exciting each year, especially over the last decade, the watchmakers at the design department have been given a second wind and charged ahead with one outstanding timepiece after another, be it new complications or new models.
At the current WPHH 2026, we were once again introduced to an array of impressive novelties, featuring new shapes and the reinvention of their existing range. Let us take you through some of the brightest stars to give you a taste of the goodies to come.
Galloping through time
This year, Franck Muller not only introduced a new version for the Long Island Evolution but also four in Curvex CX with their Master Jumper Skeleton. The Long Island Evolution Master Jumper Skeleton has an openwork displaying its moving components at work secured onto a blackened skeleton bridge. The hour, minute and date discs are in full display with all their white transferred Arabic numerals displayed in their designated and labelled gold windows on a sapphire dial. The rectangular dial is framed by a rose gold inner bezel, contrasting the black parts of the dial stunningly. The watch is powered by the fabulous in-house Manufacture Calibre MVT FM 3100-L with 30 hours of power reserve. They are housed in the rectangular PVD-coated brushed titanium case measuring 35.3mm x 48.1mm.
As the footprint of the movement is already there, it’s only apt that they dropped it in the Curvex CX case as well. There are two variations in this range, and the first variant is given the same treatment as the Long Island Evolution above. The second variant is given a complete rose gold treatment. The skeleton bridge is in rose gold, while the discs are in white with black numerals, and the components below are plated with rhodium. The hour, minute and date windows are in black. The Curvex CX in a rose gold case, measuring 38.2mm x 55.4mm. The third variant is given a different aesthetics on the dial, as it is all blackened except for the hour, minute and date discs which are given the fun colours for their transfer Arabic numerals, with rhodium plated components. The hour, minute and date display windows are in rose gold. And “Franck Muller” branding at the top of the case is also in the same technicolour. This further contrast switched up the fun element by a few factors.
It's getting crazier
When it was first launched in 2003, Franck Muller Crazy Hours threw everyone off kilter with its latest and all-new invention, a watch with the hours that appear randomly placed around the Curvex dial. The watch mesmerised everyone who ever clapped eyes upon it. To tell the time for the first time is a challenge in itself, and one can only imagine how complicated the engineering must have been to create a movement like that. Of course, there is a system. Once it’s been explained how to tell the time, then all the foggy confusion seems to dissipate. Getting there was truly a ‘crazy’ experience.
Franck Muller unveiled the Franck Muller Vanguard Lady Crazy Hours Jisbar, a collaboration with the Parisienne Artist Jisbar. If you think the iconic coloured numerals are funky, Jisbar takes it to the next level of craziness, which is befitting to the spirit of the Crazy Hours. The hour markers are hand-sketched in the FM iconic colours, in different fonts in the form of roman numerals, doodles, flowers, square root and cartoon figures, all random and making it even crazier to read, but three times as fun. They are applied onto 25 layers of lacquer on a white background. The leaf hands are coated with Superluminova onto a rose gold or stainless steel. And they just look stunning and exciting; it will put a smile on your face every time you look at the dial.
The watch is powered by an in-house Manufacture movement calibre MVT 2800-CHRS with a 42-hour power reserve. And the gorgeous craziness is housed within the rose gold or stainless steel 32mm x 42.3mm case. If you’re still confused about how to tell the time, don’t worry. You have all the fun in the world to learn how once you get one.
