NEW: Omega Speedmaster Grey Side of the Moon

A mix of lunar textures, advanced ceramics, and Apollo 8 heritage for a tribute that’s truly out of this world

If you love watches and space history, the Grey Side of the Moon is pure eye candy. Omega’s latest Speedmaster pays tribute to Apollo 8—the first mission to orbit the Moon—and the moment Jim Lovell signed off from the far side with the unforgettable line: “we’ll see you on the other side.” Every astronaut on that mission wore a Speedmaster, and this new edition carries that legacy with a serious dose of technical flair.

Part of Omega’s Dark Side of the Moon family, the Grey Side adds a distinctive twist: the skeletonised grey dial reveals the near side of the Moon, while the far side appears through the sapphire caseback, creating a miniature lunar landscape on your wrist. It’s a perfect example of how Omega blends space-inspired storytelling with cutting-edge ceramic craftsmanship.

The case is 44.25mm of bold presence, but Omega has slimmed the proportions and refined the profile, making this the most evolved Dark Side of the Moon yet. The bevelled polished ceramic dial catches light in a way that almost feels lunar, while Liquidmetal on the bezel and crown adds scratch resistance and toughness.

Omega takes the dial further with a two-layer ceramic construction and laser-brushed finishes that give it real depth. And speaking of lunar homage, it’s powered by the ultra-reliable Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3869, a movement designed for precision and durability.

The manual-winding movement pairs with newly designed rubber or nylon straps—the latter lined with rubber for comfort—while rubber straps feature embossed lunar surface patterns, a tactile nod to Omega’s space connection.

Despite the tech and textures, the Grey Side of the Moon wears surprisingly well. Slimmer profile, striking visual drama, and meticulous finishing—from laser-ablated lunar surfaces to Super-LumiNova indexes—make this a Speedmaster that feels both futuristic and wearable.

For anyone who’s ever dreamed of the Moon, this watch brings it to your wrist—classic Speedmaster precision with a lunar twist.
