NEW: Grand Seiko SBGH351 Rikka and SBGH353 Shunbun
Japan’s horology GOAT distils fleeting seasonal beauty into a form that will endure for generations
As the seasons turn in Japan, Grand Seiko once again captures nature’s quiet poetry with two new Heritage Collection timepieces—the SBGH351 and SBGH353. These modern reinterpretations of the 1967 62GS evoke the subtle beauty of Rikka and Shūbun, two of Japan’s twenty-four sekki that mark the shifting of the seasons.
The SBGH351 embodies Rikka, the season when spring yields to summer. Its textured green dial shimmers like sunlit grasslands swayed by a gentle breeze. A golden seconds hand sweeps across the surface, mirroring the warmth of early summer light.

In contrast, the SBGH353 reflects the stillness of Shūbun, the autumn equinox, when the moon and stars shine against Japan’s deep blue night skies. Its dial is a rich, celestial blue, accentuated by golden details that glow like constellations.

Both timepieces feature a bezel-free construction, allowing the expansive dials to take centre stage. Housed in an Ever-Brilliant Steel case, their refined Zaratsu-polished surfaces gleam with distortion-free clarity. A box-shaped sapphire crystal crowns each watch, enhancing the interplay of light and texture.

At their core beats the high-frequency Calibre 9S85, a mechanical marvel assembled by Grand Seiko’s master artisans. This Hi-Beat 36000 movement ensures unwavering precision, its steady rhythm echoing the quiet passage of time in nature. Water-resistant to 10 bar, both models are built for durability yet exude the serene elegance that defines Grand Seiko.
Secured by a three-fold clasp with a push-button release, the Ever-Brilliant Steel bracelet completes the design—ensuring these watches feel as timeless on the wrist as the changing seasons they honour.
