INTRODUCING: Zenith Chronomaster Sport Pink
An emblematic El Primero chronograph goes pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is recognised around the world as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and pink has become the universal colour of the campaign thanks to the iconic pink ribbon that is worn to honour survivors, remember those lost to the disease, and support the progress towards defeating breast cancer.
According to Susan G. Komen, the world’s leading breast cancer organisation, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, with a growing number of men affected too. However, 90 per cent of early-stage breast cancers are treatable and, hence, the importance of education about the disease, including early identification, and the signs and symptoms associated with breast cancer.

Zenith has long supported the global fight against breast cancer and this year is no different. Alongside numerous activities to be hosted in major cities across the world this month, the Swiss luxury watchmaker marks the occasion with the Chronomaster Sport Pink, which reimagines Zenith’s award-winning 1/10th of a second chronograph in a striking yet meaningful way.

The watch’s sunburst metallic dial reflects a range of intense pink hues, while the oversized chronograph counters and date wheel have been coloured to match. In a first for the steel version of the Chronomaster Sport, the engraved 1/10th of a second bezel is crafted in steel instead of ceramic. With its polished surface and black filled engraved markers, this iteration recalls the El Primero “Rainbow” models of the 1990s. The addition of a three-link steel bracelet means the pink dial truly stands out.

Visible through the sapphire caseback is the latest version of the El Primero calibre. With its high frequency of 5 Hz (36’000 VpH), the movement offers a true 1/10th of second indication and a power reserve of 60 hours.

This 500-piece release is significant because it is the first new dial colour for the steel Chronomaster Sport since the collection’s launch in 2021. But more importantly, a portion of sales will benefit Susan G. Komen in its effort to address breast cancer on multiple fronts, such as research, community health, global outreach, and public policy initiatives. We can think of no better cause for watch enthusiasts to rally behind this month. Let’s do our bit to end breast cancer once and for all.
