The year kick-started with the LVMH Watch Week Miami 2024 in January. It is one of the most important events in the world of horology. Every year the fair steals a little thunder from the much bigger one in Geneva and this year happened to be held in April 2024. Bulgari or BVLGARI as you may already know, shall we say is the leader of the pack of the group and one of the most coveted jewellers, has been prolific in creating not only the most beautiful jewellery but also wristwatches.
This year is no exception, Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani, the Prioduct Creation Director of Watches was at it again, sketching away with his colour pencils and creating some of the most divine timepieces not just for the men, but for the women as well. Masterfully and skilfully the artisans at Bulgari diligently and arduously creating the real 3D versions from the 2D on paper, they certainly dial in and give it all they can for this current collection emphasis on the gorgeous dial one has seen in a long time.
Seen coveting these magnificent dial arts are the LVCEA and BVLGARI BVLGARI collection, and ladies are really in for a treat and be ready to fall in love.
LVCEA was first introduced in 2014, a range specially design with the women in mind, she is sophisticated and yet not afraid of embracing the chic side of herself. And these two enigmatic traits can be seen to magnifest themselves in the latest iterations to celebrate its 10th Anniversary.
Each dial is skilfully crafted by hands, using the iridescent quality mother-of-pearls possessed naturally, and shaped them into Intarsio or tiny geometric pieces and formed them by alternating between lighter and darker shade into ‘sunray-like’ design in pearlescent white, and pearlescent green. And then there is whole new aesthetic that is just breath-taking play where the Malachite is cut into different rectangular chip in all shapes and sizes and they assembled them together like one would with a zigsaw to formed the amazing dial using Marquetry. They are then decorated with diamond applique hours markers set with their corresponding precious and noble metal.
They are powered by an automatic calibre with 42 hours of power reserve and housed in variations of 33mm stainless steel case with white mother-of-pearl Intarsio dial, stainless steel case with green mother-of-pearl dial, steel and rose gold with white mother-of-pearl Intarsio dial, stainless steel, rose gold and diamonds-set bezel with white mother-of-pearl Intarsio dial, rose gold and diamonds-set bezel with green malachite marquetry dial. They come with a matching fabulous V-shaped bracelet to compliment exquisite eye-candies for the ladies. The steel and rose and steel version come in 28mm with quartz movement for those who prefers something smaller but no less exquisite. And who would be better to represent the beautiful and precious of LVCEA than the gorgeous Anne Hathaway, the Hollywood most sought after actress.
BVLGARI X BVLAGARI needs no introduction, as the iconic is practical the buzz word amongst the chic ladies around the world, and this year at LVMH Watch Week, they introduced the new collaboration with mega pop sensation Lisa of Blackpink fame. The limited edition once again aligned itself with the LVCEA in that the dial art play with mother-of-pearl is being continued here. This time round, the dial is made up of assemblage of 400 small squares of white mother-of-pearl in various shades arranged randomly to create the checkered effect. The dial is decorated with diamond hours markers and gold hands and it is powered by a quartz movement in a 23mm steel and rose gold case, it comes with a bi-colours steel and rose gold centre links bracelet.
