NEW: Breguet Tradition Seconde Rtrograde 7035
Technical transparency meets finely executed finishing in honour of a superlative legacy in both form and function
To mark its 250th anniversary, Breguet has introduced the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035—a 38mm wristwatch that exemplifies the Maison’s enduring commitment to mechanical innovation and refined handcraft. Produced in a limited run of 250 pieces, it brings together historic codes and contemporary engineering with unmistakable clarity.

The watch is housed in Breguet gold, a proprietary alloy first seen in the Classique Souscription 2025. Its warm tone carries through to the movement architecture, with bridges satin-finished by hand and colour-matched to the case via a specially developed plating technique. The open-dial design, a signature of the Tradition line since 2005, offers a clear view of the gear train, balance, and retrograde seconds complication between 10 and 11 o’clock.

Set at 12 o’clock is a finely guilloché dial, finished in translucent Breguet blue grand feu enamel. The Quai de l’Horloge motif, used here for the first time, takes inspiration from the Turgot map of 18th-century Paris—a nod to Breguet’s original workshop on the Île de la Cité. Silvered Breguet numerals and stylised fleurs-de-lys frame the minute track, while the blued steel retrograde seconds hand offers contrast and visual balance.

Powering the 7035 is the Calibre 505SR, an automatic movement featuring a platinum oscillating weight shaped in a crescent moon—a historical reference to Abraham-Louis Breguet’s early self-winding watches. The movement operates at 3 Hz, includes 245 components, and delivers a 50-hour power reserve. Notably, it is equipped with a patented blue Nivachron balance spring, offering enhanced resistance to magnetism and long-term stability.

This special edition is presented on a navy-blue alligator strap with matching lining and an 18K Breguet gold buckle. It is delivered in a red leather presentation case, individually numbered and styled after historic Moroccan leather cases used by Breguet in the past.

With its blend of technical transparency, artisanal decoration, and rich historical references, the Tradition Seconde Rétrograde 7035 stands as a collector’s piece that reflects both the roots and the forward direction of Breguet’s horological legacy.
