New: Bell & Ross BR-X3 Tourbillon Micro-Rotor
Neo Bauhausian architecture with a touch of tradition
Bell & Ross has set off a few trends in the watch world, perhaps it has the most reactive mercury in its social-thermometer. Whether playing with vintage or toying with something new, it has always fascinated its fans and watch enthusiasts in equal measure. As an independent watchmaker, it has allowed them to explore new territory without the constraints many legacy brands are limited to.
Over the decade, we have seen how Bell & Ross has evolved and adapted rather quickly to surrounding trends. Today, they have decided to revisit one of their iconic aesthetics that reflects their contemporary spirit combined with their love of traditional watchmaking, and have unveiled their latest, the BR-X3 Tourbillon Micro-Rotor. For the very first time, the X3 range is given the highest honour, a meaningful gesture and definitely a love letter to their fans, with the stunning sapphire treatment.
They did not stop there. To enhance and emphasise the transparent aesthetics, a stark, barely-there skeleton dial sets the visual spectacle, featuring a monochromatic look and rhodium-plated skeletal bridges that securely straddle geometric, irregular squares inspired by one of the most iconic modern Dutch Cubist, Piet Mondrian’s oil paintings. If that is not enough, the hours and minute dial is set off-centre to the upper right, in a smoky sapphire, with rhodium-plated indexes and hour and minute hands, not only to make reading the time easier but also to allow the transparency to continue. And are you ready for this? If you love the classic grand complications, then you will fall for the unique positioning of the tourbillon.

It’s located at the bottom right corner of the square dial, demonstrating Bell & Ross’ creativity, which has been achieved through extensive rethinking and reengineering of the entire movement. This has resulted in a brand-new calibre being created just for this, the rhodium-plated slim micro-rotor automatic winding BR-CAL.389 with 52 hours of power reserve. The rubies, coincidentally, create another layer of aesthetic against the monochromatic look; they help to enhance the aesthetics by breaking a little monotony. The simple, clean yet beautifully modern architecture of these mechanical wonders is encased in an anti-reflective sapphire crystal cover, with a caseback held securely in place by a satin-finish steel caseband and a mere 9mm thickness. Overall, it looks ethereal.
This BR-X3 could easily be one of the best-looking watches of 2025, a rare treat for those who love innovation and creative interpretations of time-telling. It’s limited to 25 pieces, so it won’t be hanging around for much longer. Don’t think about it, act on it!
