NEW: A. Lange & Shne Lange 1 Daymatic Honeygold
The familiar Lange 1, flipped, warmed up and quietly elevated
There are few watch designs as instantly recognisable as the Lange 1. Its off-centre dial, outsized date and unapologetically Saxon confidence have become shorthand for modern haute horlogerie done the Lange way.
The Lange 1 Daymatic takes that icon and applies a subtle but meaningful twist: it mirrors the dial layout, adds automatic winding, and now, for the first time, is rendered in Honeygold, A. Lange & Söhne’s proprietary gold alloy, in a 250-piece limited edition.

Introduced in 2010, the Daymatic has always been the insider’s Lange 1. The hours and minutes sit on the right, while the subsidiary seconds and outsized date shift to the left.
Instead of a power-reserve indicator, a retrograde day-of-week display arcs along the dial’s left edge—a practical complication that reinforces the Daymatic’s distinct identity within the family.

This new edition sharpens that individuality through materials. Honeygold has a warmer, subtler glow than conventional golds, and it pairs naturally with the brown solid-silver dial.
The colour combination feels understated yet luxurious, with applied markers, hands and the date frame echoing the case’s warm lustre. At 39.5mm wide and 10.4mm thick, the case keeps classic Lange proportions and wears with easy elegance.

Inside beats the self-winding calibre L021.1, a movement that blends tradition with technical refinement. Its architecture references the Glashütte three-quarter plate, while a full-diameter central rotor ensures efficient winding.
The rotor itself is a Lange signature: a 21-carat gold centre engraved with the brand name, a platinum mass for inertia, and shock-absorbing spokes. Fully wound, it delivers a 50-hour power reserve.

Finishing is, unsurprisingly, exemplary. The movement is assembled twice and features an index-less balance with eccentric poising weights, an in-house balance spring, blued screws, gold chatons and a hand-engraved balance cock, all visible through the sapphire caseback.
The Lange 1 Daymatic Honeygold isn’t about reinvention. It is a study in nuance, warmth and mechanical confidence—a quietly compelling option for collectors who know the Lange 1 well and want something just a little more discreetly distinctive.
