Aquatic companions are becoming singularly attractive
To prove a point, in its early part of life, Bell & Ross decided to venture into the realm of the sea as they expanded the repertoire and introduced the Hydromax. They created a divers watch that is water resistant to the incredible world record depth of 11,100 meters. It was made with a technically advanced innovation where the watch is filled with a patented transparent fluorinated oil, and that was in 1997.
A decade later in 2007, in the second stage of their life, Bell & Ross introduced their second diver’s watch, the BR 02 Diver. It was a watch with a unique design to the family of round and square, a tonneau shape was introduced. It is a shape that meant business and to distinguish itself from the rest as a serious diver’s watch, though it may not be a record-breaker, it has a decent water-resistant depth of 500m.
In 2017, another decade has gone by and with the arrival of the flight instruments-inspired watches, the very first diver’s watch was introduced, the BR 03 Diver. It is still a serious professional timepiece with a decent water resistance of 300m. It has all the bells and whistles required to be deemed a professional diver’s watch, including the helium escape valve and an ultra-resistant curved sapphire. The look is coined as a “circle” because of the prominent bezel with ceramic inserts with SuperLuminova filled minute scale and the dial is decorated with applique dots and rectangular indexes filled with SuperLuminova. A round date window at five o’clock iterated that a diving watch does not have to be round.
Today, that still rings true. For 2024, Bell & Ross unveiled their diving novelty the new BR 03 Diver. With seven years of wisdom gained in making diving watches, the latest addition is a demonstration not only of their technical advancement but also their eye for detail as they performed a slight superficial transplant. The new watches are basically the same as the 2018 model except for the tweak as we can see in the hour hand which is now an arrow tipped instead. There are three new variants introduced to the Diver family –steel with three different coloured dials, a full black ceramic, and a FULL LUM
The robust and stainless steel with matte polished and mirrored edge comes in three different dial colours to choose from - matte black (BR 03 DIVER Black Steel), sunburst blue (BR 03 DIVER Blue Steel) and white (BR 03 DIVER White Steel). The all-black (BR O3 DIVER Black Matte) comes in a ceramic case and dial, and last but not least, the BR 03 DIVER Full Lum with the entire dial lit up in the dark, comes in a ceramic case and bezel. They all have blue emissions in the dark. This extended family has made the collection even more alluring and irresistible to divers and trendy urbanites alike.
They are powered by a newly improved automatic Calibre BR-CAL.302-1 which boasts an extended 54 hours of power reserve and is water resistant to the depth of 300m, housed in their respective specified 42mm case.
