Tissot Seastar 1000 Gent Automatic: Malaysia Price and Review
The Tissot Seastar is a great value proposition.

While deep-sea diving is still a very specialised field involving a lot of training, there are still plenty of amateur divers who love nothing better than to take the plunge into the deep blue sea.
As diving gains popularity, so too do dive watches. And while there are multitudes of electrical and digital offerings in the market, mechanical watches still hold a special place in the game.

Earlier this year, Tissot introduced its Seastar 1000 Gent Automatic as a way to demonstrate its keenness in giving the diving world a quality watch at a competitive price tag.
Aesthetically, the watch looks like a million bucks. Its dark blue dial reflects the spirit of the deep sea and the large Super-LumiNova-filled hour markers and hands are super easy to read, even in the dark depths of nearly 1000ft or 300m.
The watch also features a unidirectional anti-clockwise rotating steel bezel with ceramic inlay and polished-down steel crown, as well as five-minute and 20-minute warning scales.

Beneath the dial is the Powermatic 80 automatic mechanical movement (above), which offers up to 80 hours of power reserve. The movement is housed in a 43mm stainless steel case with a see-through caseback for you to check out the brilliant movement inside.
Rugged and robust, this timepiece exudes a no-frills attitude but carries much clout and has all the essentials a diver would need in a timepiece. But even if you are on dry land most of the time, it shouldn’t stop you from rocking the Seastar 1000 Gent Automatic. It offers great readability in pitch-black nights and looks super when worn casually on the weekends. Best of all? You don’t have to pay through your nose for it.
