TAG Heuer Aquaracer Camouflage 300m: Malaysia Price and Review

TAG Heuer embraces the military look with their iconic Aquaracer line.

There’s a fine line between channelling military chic and making a fashion faux pas when it comes to camouflage designs. Some do it perfectly, others, not so much. TAG Heuer, thankfully, navigated the trend nicely when it decided to take the military route with its Aquaracer collection—a mainstay since 2003.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Camouflage 300m 'Arctic'
The resulting ‘Arctic’ and ‘Khaki’ models are a bold step away from the usual dive aesthetic of the Aquaracer line, offering a fresh look for both city dwellers and tropical divers. Both models are housed within a robust 43mm lightweight case made from Grade 2 titanium with a matte black PVD treatment to reinforce the understated and military tone of the watches. The matte details add a rough and rugged vibe.

Both watches feature bold luminescent hour, minute and seconds hands. On the dial are applied faceted indexes that feature the same luminescent treatment as the hands. They also feature a prominent date display, amplified by the magnifying lens atop the sapphire crystal that offers excellent visibility. Typical of divers, both watches feature a unidirectional bezel, with colours dependent on the model you pick.

The ‘Arctic’ model sports a camouflage motif on its dial that blends blue, white and grey hues rather playfully. The black bezel also features a black ceramic minute track. While both watches are supplied with a NATO strap, the ‘Arctic’ version features a custom pattern that’s woven with different colours to match the case design.

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Camouflage 300m 'Khaki'
The ‘Khaki’ dial however features a more subdued shade, which makes it quite a versatile wear for those looking to rock a casual timepiece. Its sandblasted aluminium bezel comes with green anodised coating and is paired with a military green NATO strap.

Offering up to 300m of water resistance, the watches are powered by TAG Heuer’s famous Calibre 5 movement based on the Sellita SW200. Having appeared in various models within the Swiss manufacturer’s fold, the movement is a robust engine that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 38 hours. The caseback features an engraving of a traditional Aquaracer diver’s helmet and is coated in titanium carbide for that added toughness.

Both watches are practical and handsome in their own right. Discreet, light and tough, these TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300m models are sure to bring some military fashion appeal to your look. Just maybe don’t rock them in a full camouflage outfit.
