NEW: Laurent Ferrier Classic Origin Beige
The Swiss watchmaker marks its 15th anniversary with a warm-toned evolution of its purest design
Laurent Ferrier has always operated in a different emotional register from most of independent watchmaking—softer, calmer, utterly self-assured. Five years ago, the brand introduced the Classic Origin to celebrate a decade of this quiet philosophy. Now, for its fifteenth, the model returns in a new guise: the Classic Origin Beige.
At first glance, it is the familiar 40mm “pebble” case that defines so many of Ferrier’s references, but here the mood shifts thanks to 5N red gold. This is the first time the Origin has appeared in the alloy, and the result is a gentle glow that plays beautifully with the new beige opaline dial. The whole palette is held together by a brown railway track, a crosshair layout and subtle flashes of red that lift legibility without disturbing the calm.

Ferrier’s Assegai hands—here in 18K red gold—float across the dial with their usual poise, but it is the crown that quietly steals attention. Ferrier once described winding as an “intimate gesture”, and his signature ball-shaped crown makes good on that idea.

Turn the watch over and the mechanical story deepens. The manually wound LF116.01 calibre sits neatly under sapphire, a movement that doesn’t shout but rewards a long look. It runs at 3Hz and offers an impressive 80-hour power reserve, driven by a screw balance and a Breguet overcoil chosen for stability and precision.
The long-blade ratchet pawl—a Ferrier hallmark—is the detail collectors will appreciate most. Entirely hand-finished, it produces a crisp, elegant click when winding, the kind of sound that instantly telegraphs pedigree.

The finishing is classic Laurent Ferrier. Sandblasted bridges in black rhodium, polished interior angles, mirror-bright screws—nothing is excessive, yet nothing is overlooked. Even the parts that will never meet the eye are treated with the same patient care.
Completing the package is a mocha nubuck strap with Alcantara lining, secured by a red gold pin buckle that echoes the warmth of the case. It is a cohesive, tonal execution that reinforces the idea of the Origin Beige as a single, unified experience rather than a collection of features.
