NEW: Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition Calibre 948
A mean green dream machine makes for an ideal travel companion
Limited to just 20 pieces, this release epitomises Jaeger-LeCoultre’s blend of artistic creativity and sophisticated mechanics.
A striking green enamel dial captures the colours of nature and highlights the exceptional craftsmanship of the Maison’s Métiers Rares atelier.

Over 70 hours of meticulous work with the champlevé enamel, guillochage, and lacquering techniques goes into its creation.
The champlevé enamel technique, for example, involves carving out metal and filling it with enamel layers, while the lacquering requires the application of up to 15 coats of lacquer for depth and richness.

At the centre of the 25.5mm dial is a world map from the perspective of the North Pole, crafted from 18K gold and decorated with champlevé enamel.
It floats above a laser-cut domed skeleton of pink gold formed by the longitudes and latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere.
Beneath the dome lies the dial plate. Representing oceans, it features blue-green lacquer over a wavy guilloché pattern.

Each time zone is represented by the name of a city, set on a green opaline ring around the central dial.
Set outside the city ring are two concentric fixed rings. The inner ring indicates 24 hours, which are marked with applied rectangular indexes and laser-engraved numerals.
The outer ring features the minute track, which is laser-engraved on a background of dark green lacquer that complements the colour of the map and oceans.

The flying tourbillon, visible through a circular aperture, appears to float above the oceans and makes a complete revolution every 24 hours, mirroring Earth’s rotation.
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Calibre 948, the first to combine a world-time complication with a flying tourbillon, consists of 388 components. Despite its complexity, it is user-friendly: Setting the time with the crown synchronises all time zones, and the local time can be adjusted with one-hour jumps using the same crown.
This masterpiece is housed in an 18-carat pink gold case complemented by a dark green alligator strap that matches the dial.
