NEW: Daniel Roth Extra Plat Rose Gold
Echoing the early days of the brand in the ’90s, this ultra-thin beauty carries forward a signature style and uncompromising ethos
Daniel Roth’s latest creation, the Extra Plat Rose Gold, is a refined evolution of a beloved idea. Back in the late ’80s, Roth envisioned a slim, elegant dress watch, but it wasn’t until 1990 that the first Extra Plat arrived, a year after the debut of his groundbreaking Tourbillon C187. This new reference picks up that story, pairing traditional Swiss craft with modern precision.
The 5N rose gold case keeps the iconic double-ellipse silhouette—instantly recognisable to collectors—but slims it down to a svelte 7.7mm.

Softer, downward-sloping lugs help it hug the wrist with ease, while the open caseback offers a clear view of the movement.

Measuring 35.5mm across and 38.6mm lug-to-lug, the watch wears discreetly yet confidently, bridging the gap between classic proportions and modern wrist presence.

The dial is classic Roth: a solid white gold base with a warm 5N chapter ring, decorated in hand-cut pinstripe guilloché, black Roman numerals, and black-coated steel hands.

Inside beats the calibre DR002, a form movement developed and assembled by La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton under the discerning eye of master watchmakers Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini.

Purpose-built for the Extra Plat line, it retains Roth’s distinctive aesthetic while incorporating thoughtful technical upgrades—a free-sprung 4 Hz balance with variable inertia weights for stability, a large single mainspring offering 65 hours of power reserve, and hand-finished bridges that echo the case’s curves. Even the winding feel has been considered, thanks to a single-piece click designed for tactile satisfaction.

True to Roth tradition, every detail—from the bridge bevels to the polished wheels—speaks to the brand’s commitment to Haute Horlogerie. For collectors, the Extra Plat Rose Gold is a living continuation of Daniel Roth’s design language. It honours the original spirit while ensuring the mechanics and finishing meet today’s highest standards. In short, it’s the kind of watch that feels as good to wear as it does to simply wind, admire, and appreciate.
