Hublot is certainly the alchemist of desirable goods.

What do a watchmaker and luxury menswear label have in common? Quite a bit, if you’re Hublot and Berluti respectively. Both belonging to the same family, LVMH, the two are a combination of creativity and great foresight, that has produced many a stunning collaboration since 2015.

The dials come decorated with a fine piece of vegetable-dyed Venezia calf leather which gives it an aged-patina effect. This has to be treated specially to stop the decay of the leather as you can’t wax or polish it like a pair of shoes. waxing and polishing it like a pair of shoes is out of the question. It also comes matched with corresponding coloured leather straps.

This year, the Classic Fusion Chronograph Berluti Scritto comes in a new variation. the leather is engraved with 18^th century calligraphy, giving a new dimension to an otherwise plain leather dial. While there’s an antique feel to the watch, you also get a sense of modernity in the execution of the look. Plus, you  can now have a watch to match the shade of your shoes.

The watch comes in two variations: an Ocean Blue dial and strap with a titanium case, and a Bordeaux dial and strap with a King Gold case. In our opinion, they couldn’t look more stunning. Lurking beneath the dial is an automatic mechanical chronograph movement that uses an ETA-based movement with Dubois-Deprez modules, an extremely reliable workhorse reengineered by very talented independent movement makers to make it even better. 

There are very few chronographs out there that can be categorised as a dress watch, but the Classic Fusion Chronograph Berluti Scritto is one of them, which makes it extremely versatile. Combining art and engineering is what Hublot does best and with this watch, the brand has certainly mastered the ‘Art of Fusion’.
