While a lot can be said about the current state of affairs in the US and UK, it is important to note that these two countries hold great influence and are a testament to greatness. Celebrating these qualities, Corum has chosen to immortalise their standards by incorporating their national flags on its dials for the Bubble collection.

You’ll find four versions of the American Big Bubble otherwise known as the Bubble America First with two versions of 52mm cases in titanium or titanium with PG bezel, and two more in a modestly sized 42mm case made of steel or steel with PG bezel. True to its American roots, a vulcanised rubber strap in blue complements the timepiece. Each version is only limited to 87 pieces.

For the British piece, two versions are offered in 47mm cases of steel or steel with PG bezel. Similar to its American counterpart, the timepieces are complemented with vulcanised rubber straps in red and are only limited to 87 pieces each.

Aside from proudly bearing their flags, the watches are largely quite similar in build as they come with either a calibre CO 082 for the 47mm versions or calibre CO 403 automatic movement for the 52mm versions. On the dial, leaf-like hands sport a Super-LumiNova® blue finish for the hour and red for the minute whilst the second hand features a white circle detail. The flags on the dial are further accentuated by the unique domed and magnifying effect of the Bubble’s sapphire crystal.

Definitely a conversation starter or at least an eye catcher, subtleness is not a trait you’d carry with these babies on your wrist. Whether if you’re a patriot of Uncle Sam or the Queen, or even if you’re just a big Corum fan, the Corum Bubble America First and Brexit timepieces are definitely great statement pieces to have.
