Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41: Malaysia Price And Review
Winsome variety from Rolex’s beloved dress watch line-up.

While all eyes are justifiably fixed on the heart-stopping range of new Rolex Submariners for 2020, fans of the world’s most recogisable watch brand would also do well to check out the new line-up of Oyster Perpetual watches. This year, Rolex has given the Oyster Perpetual collection a new lease of life with larger cases and new dials, and the timepieces, which many consider to be among the best models to start one’s Rolex journey with, are generating considerable buzz.
The plus-sized Oyster Perpetual 41 will replace the Oyster Perpetual 39, and the range is completed by references in 36mm and 31mm cases. The most awesome thing about the new line-up, however, has to be the wide range of dial executions.

An instant favourite is the model featuring silver sunray-finished dial that is accentuated by raised indices with yellow gold trim, as well as hands, hour markers and the Rolex ‘crown’ logo, also in yellow gold. There are fail-safe options with black and navy dials, but the silver-dial just adds that bit of a twist and refinement to an otherwise classic design.

And there's more. Collectors will also be piqued by the rainbow-coloured assortment of lacquered dials in hues such as coral red, sea turquoise, sunshine yellow and forest green for the Oyster Perpetual 41 family. There are even more coloured variants in the 36mm and 31mm lines, and the vivid shades inject vivacity into a familiar icon like never before.

As a direct descendant of Rolex’s first waterproof watch from 1926, the Oyster Perpetual 41 is built to be a daily-beater. Its Oystersteel case and bracelet offers robust but distinguished protection, along with rudimentary 100m water resistance.

On the inside, the entire Oyster Perpetual range has been overhauled. Powering the watches is the new automatic Calibre 3230, a time-only engine that boasts all of Rolex’s most progressive mechanical innovations. The new movement features Rolex’s patented Chronergy escapement, blue Parachrom hairspring, and high-performance Paraflex shock absorbers, all designed to improve shock resistance and energy efficiency, offering close to 70 hours of power reserve.
