NEW: Mido Multifort 8 One Crown
A faceted octagonal bezel and Nivachron-equipped movement bring modern engineering to a boldly styled sports watch
Mido continues to evolve its longest-running line with the Multifort 8 One Crown, a contemporary take on a collection that dates back to 1934. This latest reference leans confidently into architectural design, pairing the model’s distinctive octagonal bezel with a refined two-tone treatment in stainless steel and rose gold-coloured PVD.
The bezel’s eight clean facets set the tone. Satin-brushed and polished surfaces catch the light differently as the watch moves, giving the 40mm case a sculptural presence without tipping into excess. The warm rose gold-coloured tone carries through to the crown and the central links of the bracelet, creating a balanced contrast against the steel outer links.

The dial remains unmistakably Multifort. Rendered in matte black, it features the collection’s signature horizontal striping. Rose gold-coloured applied indexes and tri-faceted hands echo the bezel, while white Super-LumiNova ensures legibility once the lights go down.

A crisp white minute track frames the dial and reinforces the watch’s precise, instrument-like character, while the date window at three o’clock adds everyday practicality. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides protects the dial, helping maintain clarity in varying lighting conditions.

Powering the Multifort 8 One Crown is Mido’s well-established Calibre 80, based on the ETA C07.611. The automatic movement beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and delivers an impressive power reserve of up to 80 hours—meaning it can comfortably sit through a weekend off the wrist and still be running on Monday morning.
More importantly, the movement incorporates a Nivachron balance spring, a modern alloy developed to resist magnetic fields and improve shock resistance. Adjusted in three positions, the movement aims to deliver stable accuracy across daily wear.

Through the sapphire caseback, the decorated movement is visible, complete with a rotor finished in Côtes de Genève and engraved with the Mido logo.
With its geometric bezel, practical mechanics and restrained two-tone palette, the Multifort 8 One Crown feels like a confident update to a historic line—one that combines contemporary design cues with the reliability collectors expect from modern Swiss watchmaking.
