An online exclusive inspired by the special edition designed for Cortina Watch’s 50th anniversary
Cortina Watch and Corum have been pretty consistent when it comes to limited releases centred on the Admiral.
The first was the Admiral 42 Automatic Grey Monochrome crafted in sandblasted stainless steel with a gradient grey dial. It debuted in December 2021 and was only available for sale online at Cortina Watch. This was followed by the Admiral 45 Tourbillon in October 2022. The 45mm timepiece was specially created for Cortina Watch’s 50th Anniversary and limited to 10 pieces globally.
The Admiral 42 Automatic Black and Gold is the third such tie-up between these two watch industry pioneers, which also represents their second online exclusive collaboration that can only be found at MY.Shop.CortinaWatch.com.
As to be expected, very much in place are the Admiral’s unmistakable 12-sided case and hour markers indicated by nautical pennants that correspond to the numerical equivalents within the International Code of Signals.
But, as always, where Corum truly excels is its mastery of new materials and cutting-edge technology. The sandblasted black ceramic case features a unique bezel made by combining 18K 5N gold inclusions with carbon. This results in a one-of-a-kind design where no two pieces are alike, because of the meticulous process of combining fluctuating layers of 18K 5N gold inclusions with carbon.
The anthracite sunray-finished dial adds the finishing touches to its sleek design, while the vulcanised rubber strap enhances its style and versatility, making it comfortable to wear and perfect for any occasion. Meanwhile, an engraving of “LIMITED EDITION 1 of 50” at the back of the case acts as a constant reminder of this piece’s exclusivity.
