INTRODUCING: Zenith Defy Extreme Diver
This full-on professional tool watch cloaked in matte stealth packs some serious underwater muscle
Zenith isn’t dipping a toe into dive-watch waters. It’s plunging in with full force. The new Defy Extreme Diver takes the brand’s legacy of robust performance and reimagines it for the 21st-century explorer.
Let’s start with what makes this diver “extreme”. Housed in a 42.5mm micro-blasted titanium case, the watch is engineered for saturation diving, with 600m of water resistance and a helium escape valve for good measure.

A screw-down crown sits flanked by chunky guards, and the signature 12-sided dodecagonal bezel base is topped with a black ceramic bezel, fully filled with Super-LumiNova. That’s right—this bezel glows entirely in the dark, not just the pip, making elapsed time legible at a glance no matter the conditions.
The dial leans technical and tactical. A matte black base is overlaid with C1 Super-LumiNova markers and bold yellow accents, delivering both high contrast and a jolt of visual energy. It’s functional, but far from boring. And if you’re wearing gloves—or diving in gloves—the fluted bezel edge ensures easy grip and rotation.

Inside, Zenith flexes its mechanical muscle with the El Primero 3620 automatic calibre. It beats at a high-frequency 5Hz (36,000 vph), giving superior precision and smooth seconds sweep, while a silicon escapement improves magnetic resistance.
You also get a 60-hour power reserve and, impressively, a display caseback—a rare sight on a 600m-rated diver. Through it, you can see the movement finished in sleek black with a star-shaped rotor.

On the wrist, the Defy Extreme Diver feels tough yet wearable, thanks to the lightweight titanium case and bracelet. But Zenith doesn’t stop there. The watch ships with two additional straps: a Cordura-effect rubber strap and a black-and-yellow fabric strap, both interchangeable via a tool-free quick-change system.
