Hublot Classic Fusion Element II

A partnership that is measured in precious time

Hublot has been wowing the European Royalties and sailing-mad wealthy communities since its first watch in 1980 by Carlo Crocco, the founder, with its bold and daring move of introducing the rubber strap to the watch made of precious metal. The art of fusing has started since then and has not only been their practice but is now proudly worn as the manufacturer’s tagline today.

Today, Hublot has gained worldwide fame with a wide affluent fanbase; its very first timepiece has remained very much the same as it was before a simple, clean line is inspired by the sailing world, where the moniker is named after the porthole of a yacht or sailboat from which its aesthetics originate. The 12 exposed rivets on the bezel are a nod to its origin, and over the years, there have been slight tweaks here and there to update it with the slightest changes and retain its unforgettable and iconic design. The watch, now called Classic Fusion, is the patriarch of the growing family.

In 1984, The Hour Glass, a veteran watch retailer in Singapore, which also happened to be the hub of watches and luxury goods trading and retail of South East Asia, took Hublot on as their sole distributor and retailer for the region. And with a blink of an eye, it has been 40 successful years, and the celebration of the partnership is in order.

Hublot Classic Fusion Element II Sodalite

For this 40th Anniversary of the partnership, Hublot and The Hour Glass have decided to work on a special edition with Classic Fusion Element II, of course, the eldest of the family, with a fusion of noble and precious metals and semi-precious stones. The main focus of this Special Edition is on the dial itself; it comes in five variations of different semi-precious – Pink Jasper, Sodalite, Nephrite, Turquoise and Lunar Meteorite.

They look stunning, enhanced by the clean and modern classic aesthetics of the 42mm titanium satin finished case and polished on the edges with touches of gold, as seen on the six ‘H’ screws on the bezel and the brackets, as well as the crown. The dial is left unadorned and clean and houses the central hours, minutes and seconds hands. Beneath the superbly crafted jewelled dial lies the slim automatic movement calibre HUB1110 with a 42-hour power reserve, allowing the case to be only 10.4mm thick.

If you are looking for a dress watch with that bit of striking good looks, then The Hour Glass special editions are worth your close attention, as their fine jewel-like finishing will impress you. Few can compete with its sophistication and sporty chic, with its subtle but effective Art of Fusion of semi-precious stones and noble and precious metal beautifully.
