VIDEO: My Watch Story - Tjin Lee, Entrepreneur
You may know Tjin Lee as the face of Mercury Marketing & Communications but really, this multitasker wears many more hats.
She's also chairman of Singapore Fashion Week, one of the founders of CRIB, a social enterprise that helps women become successful entrepreneurs themselves, and is a loving wife and adoring mum to two adorable tots. Watch as she shows us her favourite timepieces and reveals why they have to be unisex.
Tjin Lee, founder of Mercury Marketing and Communications and chairman of Singapore Fashion Week, shares her personal journey through timepieces and how they connect to her entrepreneurial and familial life.
The Beginning of a Passion
Tjin’s love for watches started with her first timepiece at age 21—a Tag Heuer in a ladies’ size gifted by her parents. Though she originally envisioned passing it down to daughters, it became a cherished piece she wore daily. This gift marked the start of her horological journey.
A Milestone Purchase
With her first big bonus while working at Club 21, Tjin bought a watch for herself, celebrating her professional accomplishments. Her love for watches truly blossomed as she began associating them with life milestones.
A Rose Gold Keepsake
Tjin’s favorite watch is a rose gold Daytona, gifted by her husband after the birth of their first son. For her, watches must be unisex, something she and her husband can pass down to their children, creating family heirlooms that hold deep sentimental value. This philosophy drives her watch choices, ensuring each piece carries meaning and legacy.
Exploring New Styles
While collaborating with the LVMH watch group and Sincere Watch, Tjin discovered Zenith as one of the new brands they introduced. The mechanical movements and style of Zenith watches caught her attention, adding diversity to her collection.
The Ideal Timepiece?
For Tjin, no single watch fits every occasion. Whether it’s a sporty IWC Pilot or a dressy Vacheron Constantin Overseas, her choices reflect her adventurous spirit and love for travel. These pieces symbolize her identity, blending elegance with functionality.
Tjin Lee’s story highlights the deep connections between watches, milestones, and family heritage, showcasing how timepieces serve as both personal treasures and enduring legacies.
