Oris Diver Sixty-Five Bronze Bezel: Malaysia Price And Review

Oris continues its retro-inspired dive watch home run.

Oris Diver Sixty-Five Bronze Bezel

Three years ago, when Oris revisited its diving roots with the simply monikered Divers Sixty-Five collection, which leaves little doubt as to what the watches could do and how they looked, little did the brand know that the throwback move would result in such a monster hit.

Since then, the pleasingly retro-looking range has been dressed in all manner of nostalgic garb, from bright blue dials to sleek silver ones, to bronze cases, as seen on the wildly popular Carl Brashear limited edition. Regardless of embellishments, the Divers Sixty-Five watches are distinguished by several signature features such as a fluted unidirectional rotating bezel with dive time markings, domed sapphire crystal cover, and applied high contrast hands and indexes that are vital to the vintage dive watch aesthetic.

Powered by a modified Sellita automatic movemet with 38 hours of power reserve, the new Diver Sixty-Five Bronze Bezel bears all the above hallmarks. This time, though, the watch heightens the nostalgic allure with a touch of understatement. Unlike the aforementioned models with bronze cases and blue dials, this version features ‘standard’ colour combinations – black bezel, black dial, and steel lugs.

Building on the look of last year’s ‘Movember’ edition, which featured PVD rose gold accents on the hands and indexes, the Diver Sixty-Five Bronze Bezel has those same hands and indexes in cream coloured tones, evoking a patina-like hue. The other highlight would be the bronze fluted bezel edge. While it occupies prime estate in the model name, the bronze fluted bronze bezel is a subtle embellishment that gives the watch just that nudge it needs to stand out even more.
