Our five favourite sparklers for the ladies.

Audemars Piguet Sapphire Orbe

Audemars Piguet Sapphire Orbe

Audemars Piguet isn’t holding back when it comes to its haute joaillerie collection. The Maison pushes its gem-setting craftsmanship to new heights with the Sapphire Orbe. Its design captures the ripples made when a pebble hits water—an impression achieved by a multi-faceted setting of diamonds and sapphires in graded hues of blue and orange. Flip the dark blue sapphire-set globe over to reveal an 18K white gold dial, also paved with graded orange sapphires. More than a dress watch, this is art for the wrist.
Bulgari Divas’ Dream Peacock

Bulgari Divas’ Dream Peacock

This timepiece is probably one of the more unusual releases of the year in this category. Its dial is composed of a real peacock feather, whose vivid colours contrast beautifully with the 18K rose gold case set with diamonds on the bezel and the outer tip of the lugs. The faceted crown is set with a cabochon-cut rubellite for added colour. Powered by an automatic movement, the watch is finished with a taupe-coloured alligator leather strap.
Cartier Baignoire Allongée

Cartier Baignoire Allongée

Most Cartier designs are over a century old, such as the eternally beautiful Baignoire. First introduced in 1912, its name means ‘bathtub’ in French, to reflect its elliptical case. The classic shape has now been elongated slightly yet retains its inherent beauty and charm. The diamond-studded models are especially desirable—and not just for the extra sparkle, but also because they come with a superb hand-wound mechanical movement.
Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Plum Blossom

Girard-Perregaux Cat’s Eye Plum Blossom

The Cat’s Eye—launched by Girard-Perregaux in 2004—is another exciting interpretation of the oval. This year, the most feminine model of all its collections has been made even more graceful with the addition of a plum blossom as the star attraction. Here, it takes the form of a seconds indicator floating on a sapphire disc above the diamond pavé dial. The beauty of this piece isn’t just skin-deep; it possesses a mechanical heart with an automatic movement.
Longines Conquest Classic

Longines Conquest Classic

For something a little more understated, we can always rely on Longines. The Swiss brand has forged a reputation for being the master of the classic watch and this year, all it’s taken is a minor tweak to give the Conquest Classic’s familiar charm a new effervescence. While still sporty—with its sunray silver dial and warm gold indexes and hands—the addition of diamonds to the bezel captures the light in the most seductive way, giving it an altogether more sophisticated feel.
