Bell & Ross Military Watches: Four New ModelsWritten by Leong Wong
Taking military precision to another level.
With four new offerings across two iconic ranges, Bell & Ross continues to embody that distinct DNA with a focus on its founders’ fascination with military history.
First up are the downright practical models from the BR V series. The basic three-hand BR V2-92 comes with an automatic movement beneath its appealing military green dial. Its large Arabic numerals, indexes and central hands are coated with Super-LumiNova, while a small military-inspired date display sits at half past four.
The dial is framed by a black anodised aluminium bi-directional bezel with short-period scale. Its matte brushed stainless-steel case comes with a matching military-green NATO strap or stainless-steel bracelet to complement the vintage pilot feel.
BR V2-93 GMT Blue
The second variation in the BR V series is the BR V2-93 GMT Blue. This is one of the most practical watches to own if you are a frequent traveller because it lets you keep track of two time zones simultaneously. The main design difference is in the colour of the dial—midnight blue with a sunray satin finish. It is decorated with Super-LumiNova Arabic numerals, indexes and hands.
A GMT hand with a red arrow indicates the second time zone as read via the two-toned anodised aluminium bezel. The timepiece, equipped with an automatic movement, comes in a matte brushed case and the option of a stainless steel bracelet or a grey NATO strap.
BR V2-94 Aéronavale Bronze
On the other hand, the chronograph-equipped BR V2-94 Aéronavale Bronze is for speed junkies who are obsessed with precision timing down to the millisecond. Its brushed bronze case with a fixed bezel in navy-blue anodised aluminium certainly has a unique appeal.
This is made even more attractive by the matte navy-blue sunburst dial with gilt metal indexes, Arabic numerals, sub-dials and Super-LumiNova-coated central hour and minute hands. The watch, which is powered by an automatic movement, comes only with a navy-blue NATO strap.
BR 03-92 LUM
Lastly, let’s talk about the latest rendition of the BR 03-92 LUM series. BR 03 is Bell & Ross’ third-generation flight instrument-inspired series and, in 2017, it introduced the LUM offshoot, which takes its name from the French word ‘lumière’, or ‘light’ in English, because its Super-LumiNova coated indexes and hands are simply so bright.
For 2020, grey makes its debut in the BR 03-92 Grey LUM. This handsome rendition, with its brushed stainless-steel case and dark grey sunburst dial, exudes a resolutely modern air. The dial, of course, features Super-LumiNova coated indexes, Arabic numerals and hands, which ensures legibility in visually challenging conditions.
